Nevada Press Association

The Nevada Press Association is the trade organization for non-broadcast news publications in the state of Nevada. It represents daily and weekly newspapers as well as online-only news organizations and magazines. The history of NPA dates back to 1865, when an association of Nevada newspapers was first organized. In 1924, the organization officially became the Nevada State Press Association after a journalism professor at the University of Nevada, Reno spearheaded a final reorganization campaign.

Our mission

NPA represents the interests of non-broadcast news organizations in Nevada. Our primary mission is to help foster open government and a vibrant press by advocating for strong public records, open meetings and public notice laws.
