Reno to host NPA’s 2021 convention

The Nevada Press Association Board of Directors voted unanimously last week to hold the 2021 convention in Reno. The annual event was last held in Reno in 2007.

“We’re looking forward to hosting the next Nevada Press Association convention in the Biggest Little City next year — assuming we’re able to do so safely,” said Brian Duggan, NPA President and executive editor of the Reno Gazette Journal. “There will be lots of journalism from across the state to celebrate.”

Following the meeting, Duggan announced the following appointments to this year’s Convention Committee. All of the members are based in Reno-Tahoe area.

– Brian Duggan, chair (Reno Gazette Journal)

– Amanda Burden (edible Reno-Tahoe)

– Bob Conrad (This is Reno)

– Steve Ranson (Lahontan Valley News)

– Daniel Rothberg (Nevada Independent)

– Brian Bahouth (Sierra Nevada Ally)

The organization’s 2020 convention was scheduled to be held in Pahrump before it was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
