Record-Courier publisher retires

Record-Courier Publisher Pat Bridges and advertising manager Tara Addeo during a Best of Carson Valley luncheon.

Pat Bridges, publisher for the Record-Courier in Douglas County, retired on April 19 after six years with the newspaper.

Here’s editor Kurt Hildebrand’s column on Pat’s retirement and career, which was with Carson City-based Swift Communications over the past decade.

He was a sales representative for the Tampa Tribune, worked for E.W. Scripps in Redding, Calif., and Evansville, Ind., and was advertising director of the Anchorage Daily News.

As Kurt notes, Pat was also president of the Minden Rotary Club and vice president of the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce.

We thank him for serving as our master of ceremonies last year for the annual Better Newspaper Contest awards banquet in Carson City.
