The Nevada Press Foundation Board has extended the deadline to submit nominations for the Nevada Press Foundation Hall of Fame.
Nominations are now being accepted for inductees to the Nevada Press Foundation Hall of Fame. The deadline to submit nominations for 2024 is the close-of-business on Friday, May 31, 2024
Candidates should be newspaper professionals who made lasting contributions to Nevada journalism and/or the news industry over the course of their careers. Members can be elected posthumously.
Each nomination must be accompanied by at least one nomination letter; supporting biographical material is encouraged. Both the letters and supporting material should be submitted in an electronic format, which can be sent directly to the Nevada Press Foundation at admin (at) nevadapress.com or via a form on the bottom of this page of our website.
Although there are no hard and fast rules, the organization generally inducts 3-4 new members every year. Since we did not have an Annual Convention in 2023, the NPF Board intends to induct a larger class (6 or more) in September at the Annual Convention in Reno.
Nominees are vetted by a standing committee. The committee’s report is reviewed by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, which has the final authority to elect new members.
The Hall of Fame was resurrected in 1998 with the induction of 34 people who had previously been given the NPA’s Silver Makeup Rule Award. A photo gallery and alphabetical list with brief biographies of all of the members of the Hall of Fame can be found here on our website.
