The Reynolds School of Journalism will host a First Amendment forum featuring Lucy Dalglish and Trevor Timm starting at 7 p.m. April 25 in the theater of the Joe Crowley Student Union on the campus of the University of Nevada in Reno.
Dalglish, a media lawyer and dean of the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland, and Timm, executive director of the Freedom of the Press Foundation, will discuss the state of American press freedom today and consider its broader historical and legal context.
Patrick File, an assistant professor of media law at the Reynolds School of Journalism, will moderate the conversation and a question-and-answer period for the audience.
The free public event is sponsored by the Lerude First Amendment Endowment and KUNR, Reno Public Radio.
