On Saturday, a panel of experts told Nevada Press Association members everything they needed to know about using drones for newsgathering.
Well, they may not have covered everything.
But Mark Hinueber, counsel for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Assemblyman Eliot Anderson, whose drone bill went into effect the day before, and Richard Jost, an attorney with Fennemore Craig specializing in aviation law, were there to answer questions. Theoretically, you could have found out anything.
Below is a video with some highlights of the seminar.
It also features Mark Carmonne, who works with Nevada Photo Source and showed us how his drone works. He even flew it for a few minutes in the hallway.
Here too is the infographic supplied by Jost with a good overview of what journalists need to do to fly drones legally.
