AG’s office provides training on Nevada’s open meeting, public records laws

In November, the Attorney General’s Office hosted a day of training for members of state boards and commissions subject to Nevada laws regulating their processes and conduct, including administrative rule making, state contracting and ethics in government.

The training also featured modules on the responsibilities of official boards and commissions under the state’s open meeting and public records laws. The Nevada Press Association was invited to attend.

Fortunately, the training sessions were recorded and were recently posted on the AG’s website.

The Open Meeting Law presentation was conducted by Rosalie Bordelove, chief deputy attorney general for boards and open government. The video is here and a copy of the handout distributed to attendees is here.

Deputy Attorney General Asheesh S. Bhalla presented the materials on the Public Records Act. Video of Mr. Bhalla’s presentation is here and the handout is here.

Kudos to Attorney General Aaron Ford and his team for making these presentations and materials available to the public.
