Join us for Newspaper Day at the Capital on March 23 in Carson City, when we will tour the Legislative Building and Capitol, meet with lawmakers and other state officials and host a reception at the Rinckel Mansion, also known as the Press Center.

Publishers, editors, reporters, salespeople — everybody is invited for an event we hold each session to familiarize people with the Legislature and our capital city.

11 a.m. — Senate and Assembly floor sessions. If you want to sit on the floor as a guest of your senator, we must make a request at least a week in advance

Noon — Lunch on your own

1:15 p.m. — Tour the Legislative Building, meet with legislators, attend a committee hearing.

2:15 p.m. — Tour the Capitol

3 p.m. — Meet with Gov. Brian Sandoval

3:30 p.m. — Nevada Press Association board meeting at the Press Center, 102 N. Curry St.

5:30 p.m. — Reception with legislators at the Press Center, also known as the Rinckel Mansion, 102 N. Curry St. Hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine
