We needed to pause for a minute to thank Marie Wujek, who was publisher of the Pahrump Valley Times and Tonopah Times-Bonanza for a decade and a member of the NPA board for a good part of that time, for her contributions to the association and to the newspaper industry in Nevada.
Her last day at the paper was earlier this month — here’s a nice story on her tenure in Pahrump — before she heads to Show Low, Ariz., and a non-retirement.
As the story shows, Marie is the kind of person who does whatever needs to get done. I greatly admire that in a person, and it’s absolutely necessary if you’re publishing a small newspaper.
