Ghost Walk strolls the neighborhood on Saturday

Three volunteers for the Ghost Walk on the front steps of the Rinckel Mansion.

If you’ve been waiting for a good time to tour Carson City’s historic west side, tomorrow (Oct. 24) is the day.

The Ghost Walk will be strolling the neighborhood starting at 10 a.m. and continuing the tours until 2:30 p.m. Check out the web site for details.

We’re pleased to have the Rinckel Mansion as a stop on the tour, which combines the ghosts of Carson City’s past with the annual celebration of Nevada Day events. As a bonus, the Nevada Newspaper Hall of Fame is located inside the mansion, which is the home of the Nevada Press Association.

We do get visitors stopping by from time to time, but there’s nothing like having the guided tour from Mary Bennett, her daughter, Baylee, and the rest of the crew to give you the history.

Carson City’s rich and intriguing history is explored and theatrically relived in our seasonal Ghost Walking Tours, led by the theatrically devised and entertaining historical character  Madame Curry.  The Carson City Ghost Walk and Ghost Walking Tours are a delightfully spooky and enjoyable way to experience Carson City’s Victorian Era and diverse history.  Hear about lingering spirits of the past centuries, haunted and paranormal stories. This is a spirit lead, guided walking tour of the downtown district’s westside historic homes and businesses. This 90-minute guided walking tour leaves rain or shine.  Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the walk begins.

The tours start at Curry and Third streets every half hour during the day.
