City of Reno to buy Reno Gazette-Journal building

After two years on the market, the building housing the Reno Gazette-Journal for more than 40 years is being sold to the city of Reno for new police headquarters.

Here’s the RGJ’s story on the City Council’s action in July.

At the same time the RGJ’s parent company put the building at 955 Kuenzli St. up for sale, it began using the presses at Sierra Nevada Media’s operation in Carson City.

Plans call for the RGJ to move its staff to a new location in downtown or midtown Reno.
