Congratulations to our friends at the Reno Gazette-Journal for winning four awards in the Best of Gannett competition among the 92 newspapers in the company.
Here’s a link to the RGJ’s story.
Of particular note were a first place for public service reporting for a series on water usage, written by Jeff DeLong, and another first place for The Reno Memo in the category of innovative ideas to reach new readers. If you’ve not signed up for The Reno Memo, take a look to see how you might be able to put a fresh perspective on stories you’re already reporting.
Another Gannett award went to Anjeanette Damon’s investigation last year into deadly intersections and the spiking number of pedestrian deaths. It was a sad and attention-getting series of stories.
The fourth award was to Jenny Kane and Andy Barron for their Burning Man coverage.
