Convention, awards banquet in Mesquite

We’re excited for the annual convention and awards banquet this weekend  at the CasaBlanca in Mesquite.

Plan to attend a Friday evening reception at the CasaBlanca. On Saturday, we will begin with the annual general membership meeting of the Nevada Press Association, followed by training sessions and workshops for members.

We’re looking forward to seeing you Sept. 23-24 at the CasaBlanca in Mesquite for the annual Nevada Press Association convention and awards banquet.

It starts with the Friday evening reception at the CasaBlanca. On Saturday, we will begin with the annual general membership meeting of the Nevada Press Association, followed by training sessions and workshops for members.

Friday, Sept. 23, CasaBlanca
3 p.m. — NPA board meeting, Dunes room
5:30 p.m. —  Cocktail reception, Castaways

Saturday, Sept. 24, CasaBlanca
8 a.m. — Continental breakfast, Castaways
8:30 a.m. — General membership meeting, Flamingo room
9:45 a.m. — Preview of the 2017 legislative session.

11 a.m. — Focusing on the three legs of media: Advertising, editorial and distribution with Eric Buskirk, CEO and founder of Verican.

Noon — Lunch, Castaways

1 p.m. — How to shoot video, Flamingo room, with David Guzman, deputy photo editor of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

2:15 — Planning successful events for your community and publication, with Annie Flanzraich, owner of FlanzWrites.

3:15 p.m. — Idea exchange.

6 p.m. — Reception
6:30 p.m — Awards banquet and Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Cortez/Stardust/Flamingo
